Why Linux Remains the Source of Network Truth
The live Linux operating system determines active interfaces, routes and addresses. MYLO observes and explains that state; an old application record cannot overrule the machine that is actually carrying traffic.
The live Linux operating system determines active interfaces, routes and addresses. MYLO observes and explains that state; an old application record cannot overrule the machine that is actually carrying traffic. The value comes from the layers working together while each retains a clear responsibility. This makes changes explainable, reviewable and recoverable rather than dependent on an opaque model response.
Active interfaces
The live Linux operating system determines active interfaces, routes and addresses. MYLO observes and explains that state; an old application record cannot overrule the machine that is actually carrying traffic. Operators should confirm this boundary through current evidence and avoid assumptions inherited from old documentation.
Routes
MYLO presents relevant evidence in business language while preserving permission and approval controls.
Current address
The proposed operation names its scope, protected inputs, dependencies and expected result before execution.
MYLO observation
Deterministic checks make the behaviour repeatable, auditable and safe to stop when evidence disagrees.
Avoiding stale records
Completion requires verification against the running system, not merely a successful save message.
From Request to Controlled Operation
- An authorised person states the desired business outcome.
- AI assistance interprets language, retrieves relevant approved knowledge and asks for missing information.
- Deterministic code observes current authoritative state and validates values, permission and scope.
- MYLO presents a structured proposal showing intended differences and protected values.
- A responsible administrator approves when the effect is consequential.
- Deterministic services create required backups, apply the bounded operation and reload safely.
- MYLO verifies configuration and live evidence, records the result and offers a defined recovery path.
Limits and Operating Checklist
- Does each fact come from its authoritative source?
- Is the requested outcome and exact scope clear?
- Are permission, provider and product boundaries explicit?
- Does the proposal show meaningful before-and-after differences?
- Has the responsible person approved consequential effects?
- Is there a scoped snapshot and manifest before mutation?
- Did deterministic validation and execution complete?
- Was the real customer outcome verified?
- Can failure be explained and restored without inventing state?
Linux Owns the Live Network State
Network-interface addresses, routes and operating-system networking are Linux facts. MYLO may propose or perform an authorised task, but it must inspect the actual live state afterward. This is especially important on a two-NIC appliance, where the office/Internet interface and provider/SIP interface can require different gateways and routing rules.
Why Database State Cannot Prove Networking
An application record can describe the intended address, gateway or provider route, but only Linux shows the active interface, assigned addresses and routing table. Cable state, DHCP changes, interface naming, policy routes and operating-system updates can make stored intent stale. MYLO must observe the live host before and after an authorised network operation.
Two Interfaces Require Explicit Routing
On a MYLO unit with separate office and telecom interfaces, default and provider-specific routes must be deliberate. Sending provider SIP or media through the office gateway can fail even while ordinary Internet access works. Conversely, an Internet-dependent AI or API request should not be assumed to use the private provider path.
Network changes can disconnect the administrator, so the proposal should name the affected interface, current and proposed values, recovery access and acceptance tests. A successful database write is never proof that Linux networking changed.
