I Already Have a Business Mobile Number — Can I Use It With MYLO?
A familiar business mobile number may still remain part of your customer journey. Understand how provider-supported forwarding or routing can fit before MYLO and what must be checked with the telecom provider.
Potentially, yes—but the clean explanation is that the mobile number stays with its telecom provider. Where the provider supports an appropriate forwarding or routing facility, calls to that familiar number can be sent onward to a business telecom number or service that reaches the MYLO setup. MYLO then handles the call after it arrives at the business telephony layer.
Quick answer
- Start from the business outcome; MYLO uses conversation to gather or clarify the information it needs.
- Consequential telephony work stays inside the product's permissions, validation and approval boundaries.
- The telecom provider remains responsible for public numbers, carrier service, capacity and provider-side conditions.
Keep the familiar number without confusing the layers
Keep the Number Customers Know; Change What Happens Behind It
A customer does not need to understand your telephony architecture. They call the number they know. The provider handles the first part of the journey. If that service supports forwarding to the destination you are allowed to use, the call can continue toward the business calling system. MYLO can then apply the configured IVR or route to the right team.
Do Not Describe This as “Plugging a Mobile Number Into MYLO”
MYLO does not take ownership of the mobile number or SIM. The important separation is provider-side number service versus MYLO-side call handling. Keeping that distinction clear avoids promising a direct connection that the product does not provide.
Forwarding Must Use the Provider’s Current Supported Method
Provider facilities change. Jio currently documents call forwarding through handset settings or the MyJio app and lists supported Indian destination types. DoT previously directed providers to discontinue the old USSD-based activation method and move subscribers to alternative methods. That is why this article should never tell every Indian customer to dial one universal code.
See Jio’s current forwarding guidance and the DoT direction on USSD-based call forwarding.
After the Call Reaches MYLO, the Business Rules Begin
Once the provider path delivers the call to the business telephony connection, MYLO can help configure the supported destination: an extension, external mobile destination or IVR. For example, a familiar mobile number could continue to be advertised while the resulting business call is handled by an IVR that sends Sales and Support to different places—provided the telecom arrangement itself is supported and compliant.

A Note About Forwarding, Provider Rules and Custom Requirements
Call forwarding is a telecom-provider facility, not a MYLO feature. The exact destinations, charges and activation method depend on the provider and service. For example, Jio currently documents app/handset-based forwarding to supported Indian destinations.
DoT previously directed providers to discontinue the old USSD-based call-forwarding activation method and use alternative methods, so do not rely on an old dial code copied from the Internet. Check the current method with your provider.
Customisation is welcome. We can discuss a Custom Requirement for a different routing or integration need, but the solution must continue to follow the provider's service conditions and applicable Indian telecom requirements. See Jio call-forwarding guidance and the DoT call-forwarding direction.
