I Have a PRI Line — Can I Still Use MYLO?

An existing PRI service does not necessarily have to be discarded. Understand, in business terms, when suitable interface equipment may be needed before that telecom connection reaches MYLO.

I Have a PRI Line — Can I Still Use MYLO?

Potentially, yes. A PRI line is an older-style digital telecom handoff, while MYLO is built around IP/network connectivity to the local Asterisk system. If your provider continues to supply PRI, suitable provider or gateway equipment may be needed to present that service in the IP/SIP form the MYLO telephony side can use.

Quick answer

  • Start from the business outcome; MYLO uses conversation to gather or clarify the information it needs.
  • Consequential telephony work stays inside the product's permissions, validation and approval boundaries.
  • The telecom provider remains responsible for public numbers, carrier service, capacity and provider-side conditions.

Where PRI fits

STEP 1
Existing PRI service
STEP 2
Appropriate PRI-to-supported interface/gateway where required
STEP 3
MYLO telephony side
STEP 4
Local IVR, users and routing
STEP 5
Real inbound/outbound verification

Do Not Try to Plug PRI Directly Into an Ethernet Port

The two connectors may both look like “telecom hardware” to a buyer, but they are not the same interface. The MYLO appliance expects its network interfaces to carry IP networking. A PRI service therefore needs the correct termination/interface design before it reaches MYLO.

The Business Decision Is Whether to Keep or Modernise the Carrier Handoff

If the existing PRI contract, number and service still suit the business, an appropriate gateway may preserve that investment. If the provider offers a suitable SIP/IP service, migrating the carrier handoff may simplify the architecture. MYLO should not make that commercial/provider decision for you; it works with the supported handoff you arrange.

What MYLO Does After the Handoff Is Ready

Once the carrier side is presented as a supported IP telephony connection, MYLO can guide the local carrier configuration and then the business features above it: telephone users, incoming routes, IVR and outgoing mappings. The customer can focus on “where should this call go?” rather than PRI signalling details.

Treat the Gateway as Part of the Provider/Integration Design

Do not buy a random converter because an article used the word “gateway.” Confirm the exact PRI type, provider requirements and the supported SIP presentation. A gateway requirement is a good example of something that may sit outside the standard MYLO box and need a scoped implementation task.

Custom Requirements and Telecom Responsibility

MYLO configures and operates the customer's local telephony layer; it is not the telecom carrier. Numbers, trunk service, calling charges and provider-side permissions remain with the customer's telecom provider. Where a requirement sits outside the standard MYLO package, MyLineHub can discuss it as a Custom Requirement.

Customisation does not override telecom-provider conditions, customer-consent obligations or applicable Indian telecom requirements. The final calling design must use services and number-routing methods that the business is permitted to use.
