Can MYLO Handle More Than One Incoming Business Number?
Businesses may use different numbers for different teams, campaigns or locations. This article explains how provider-supplied numbers can fit into a MYLO calling setup, subject to the actual telecom service.
Yes, MYLO’s telephony model can work with carrier DIDs recorded from the authoritative trunk configuration, and incoming setup can map provider-supplied numbers to supported destinations. The important business constraint is that the numbers must actually be supplied and routed by your telecom provider; MYLO does not manufacture extra phone numbers.
Quick answer
- Start from the business outcome; MYLO uses conversation to gather or clarify the information it needs.
- Consequential telephony work stays inside the product's permissions, validation and approval boundaries.
- The telecom provider remains responsible for public numbers, carrier service, capacity and provider-side conditions.
Multiple numbers only help when each has a purpose
| Decision | What it means |
|---|---|
| Main number | Reception or a primary IVR |
| Sales number | Direct sales journey or dedicated campaign identity |
| Support number | Existing-customer support route |
| Provider contract | Actual number inventory and delivery remain provider-controlled |
Why a Business Might Want More Than One Number
- A separate Sales and Support number.
- Different numbers for different brands or campaigns.
- A dedicated number for a branch or service line.
- A number that goes directly to an IVR while another reaches a person.
The number strategy is a business/provider decision. MYLO’s job is the local routing after those numbers reach the appliance.
MYLO Records Provider Numbers as Operational Inventory
In v0.35, carrier DIDs are recorded only after the authoritative trunk change reloads and verifies. The inventory can mark whether a number is usable for inbound, outbound, both or unknown. That inventory is not a second copy of the trunk configuration; Asterisk remains the authority for the live telephony configuration.
Each Number Still Needs a Destination
A number by itself is not a customer experience. During incoming setup, decide whether each number should reach an extension, an external mobile or an IVR. MYLO can guide that mapping and ask when the destination is missing.
Do Not Promise Unlimited Numbers From the Appliance
The quantity and type of numbers available to the business come from the telecom provider and contract. The article therefore should never say “MYLO gives you X DIDs.” For the provider side, read Can one SIP trunk carry multiple business numbers?.

Custom Requirements and Telecom Responsibility
MYLO configures and operates the customer's local telephony layer; it is not the telecom carrier. Numbers, trunk service, calling charges and provider-side permissions remain with the customer's telecom provider. Where a requirement sits outside the standard MYLO package, MyLineHub can discuss it as a Custom Requirement.
Customisation does not override telecom-provider conditions, customer-consent obligations or applicable Indian telecom requirements. The final calling design must use services and number-routing methods that the business is permitted to use.
